Description
Large Exceptional, rare and very unique statue (Museum quality) "Enfant aux Canards" (child with the ducks) by French artist-sculptor born as Monsieur Albert-Ernest Carrier de Belleuse (1824-1887). Hand-carved in solid plaster from the 19th century, authentic and original. Actual life size. Ernest was one of the founders of "la Societe Nationale des Beaux-Arts", and was made an officer of "la Legion d Honneur" (Legion of Honor) in France (one of the highest reconnaissance in Europe). Ernest had Auguste Rodin as his assistant between 1864 and 1870. They traveled to Brussels (Belgium) in 1871, and Rodin still assisted Carrier de Belleuse's architectural sculpture for the Brussels Stock Exchange. It is said in the private Art-world that Carrier-Belleuse developed Rodin's talent, as being Rodin's master. This exact statue is the original model of few models made from a cast from this original. One of a kind. Museum quality. From a private collector in France. International shipping in wood crate NIMP15 under US Customs Regulations. Available right now from our location in France.
