Scottish Basket-Hilt Broadsword, Circa 1936-1952.Â
32-inch, bright, straight, double-edged blade with two narrow central fullers. Blades etched with floral scroll, thistles, and a crown. Maker not readily visible but six-pointed star proof marks appear on the obverse and reverse ricasso. Typical ornate German-silver basket hilt complete with red felt covered leather lining. Wire-wrapped leather covered grips. German-silver scabbard with two mounting rings.
Condition: Excellent. Modest scabbard-storage wear to blade; scabbard likewise with minimal war.
