Victorian-Era Decorative Continental Shield. 22 ¾-inches in diameter with figural rope edges and round-head studs evenly spaced along the edge. The center portion of the shield is convex, central to which is a 4 ½-inch four-sided spike with a gilded leaf motif base. The reverse side features two buff white leather carrying straps and a mounted ring for hanging.
