Description
DESCRIPTION: Collection of twelve single owner autographed documents. Includes: 1) Typed letter signed by J. Edgar Hoover on FBI letterhead dated April 1, 1971 accompanying a requested copy of the latest Uniform Crime Reports bulletin. 2) Typed letter signed by Henry Rosovsky, acting President of Harvard University, dated July 23, 1984 thanking the recipient for a donation. 3) ALS signed by Peter H. Kostmayer, former member of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives, on his letterhead and with original envelope. 4) Typed letter signed by Dave Powers, Museum Curator of the John F. Kennedy Library dated April 17, 1985 regarding a possible donation to the museum. 5) Business card signed by Art Linkletter on August 1, 1977 (obtained in person by the consignor). 6) Typed letter signed by Whitney Gillilland, Acting Chairman of the Civil Aeronautics Board dated July 26, 1974 and addressed to Senator Richard S. Schweiker regarding airline advertising together with the signed letter from Schweiker forwarding Gillilland's response to the consignor. 7) ALS signed by George Ivers dated December 15, 1996 together with a photocopied page of information regarding the George Ivers Memorial Library Case signed by Ivers' wife Iris and a thank you card from the funeral. 8) Typed letter signed by Henry Cabot Lodge, grandson of the Republican Senator from Massachusetts dated January 24, 1972 thanking the recipient for sending along books written by his grandfather. 9) Typed letter signed by Margaret Chase Smith dated February 15, 1994 thanking the recipient for a poem written about her. The poem was written by the consignor as a thanks for her intervention in helping his friend Nathan C. King receive an early release from military service in 1956 to continue his education. Copies of his letter and poem are included. 10) Typed letter signed by Orville A. Petty, VP of Marketing for Lenox dated June 3, 1968. 11) Autograph page signed by the four members of the Buffalo Bills, an a cappella group. MEASUREMENTS: Various. CONDITION: All with minor wear. Some with expected fold marks.
