Pavel Piskariov has repainting the Monastery Harjauca wich is imortalization on the moldavian money (10 lei bill / banknote) The destiny of St. Spiridon church was tragic. The icons and sacred images describing Jesus life have been plastered. The famous icon painter Pavel Piskariov, painted the church’s walls in 1922, 13 icons and 26 portraits, which would have last in time if there wasn’t the devastating actions of the atheists. The value of these pieces of arts it’s so significant because Pavel Piscariov`s name is in scripted on the walls of Jerusalem Cathedral next to the other remarkable icon painters from the whole word. In time...St. Spiridon church has been transformed in a club and later in a sport room. In 1993 a devastating fire destroyed the walls plaster revealing some of the old icons.
