Item Details
Description
Rhode Island Currency
June 16, 1775 Rhode Island Note Rarity
Colony of Rhode Island. June 16, 1775. One Pound Ten Shillings. Apparent restorations, signature and serial number enhanced. PCGS graded Extremely Fine-40.
Fr. RI-195. One of the Finest known of both this denomination and for the entire issue. There is one tiny deft corner tip repair at the upper right and trivial sealed centerfold edge splits. The paper remains fresh and clean with deeply printed text. Full clear signatures of Joseph Clark and Metcalfe Bowler are in attractive red and brown ink. A small ancient notation on the reverse that is well away from the extremely well centered text on the lower reverse. Ex: NASCA, Dr. Van B. Elliott Sale, April-May 1979, Lot 220.
