Ancient ROMAN BRONZE BALANCE SCALE c. 1st Century BC-Early 4th Century AD.Composed of a central bronze beam with knife shaped fulcrum and two hanging pans attached with ancient chains. Despite its utilitarian purpose, it was nonetheless crafted with beautiful details we can still appreciate today.In excellent condition with natural patina present.Beam length: 24.1 cm (9.48 inches)Height when suspended: 33.5 cm (13.18 inches)Pan diameter: 6.7 cm (2.63 inches)From a private American collection acquired in Israel.
