4to, 222x156 mm, full vellum binding, handwritten title at spine, green sprinkled edges; 2 parts in one vol.; pp. [32], 591, [1 b.]. Two title-pages, both in a double-ruled frame; beautiful full page engraving at frontispiece, with a view of Ravenna. Xyl. head- and final-pieces; decorated head-letters. Engraved coat of arms of nobles, bishops and most important families of Ravenna.
Very interesting first edition of this work on Ravenna, divided in two parts: the first part contains a physical and historical description of all the churches of the city and of the surroundings as well as a list of bodies and relics of saints and blessed, their tombs, epitaphs, inscriptions, paintings, and sculptures. The second part, in addition to the chronological catalogue of all the archbishops of Ravenna, also includes their most memorable events, their arms, titles, privileges, inscriptions and epitaphs and gives you full news of many stories as sacred as profane.

Brownings and soiling at some pages; frontispiece rebacked; repairs at leaf Gg4 and at the margins of last two leaves. Overall, a good copy.
