Egyptian Wooden Polychrome BA-BIRD, 1000-800 B.C.
Represented as a bird with a human head. Originally may have been attached to the top of a wooden sepulchral tablet or shrine, or perhaps the corners of a wooden outer box enclosing the coffin. Wearing a blue wig. The face, which represents that of the deceased, is a light tan with facial details in black. The deep-cut body has feet with traces of bright green. The tail is decorated in red paint. Some remnants of white paint and white decorative lines around the wings.
