A Large Blue and White Lotus Jar, Ming Dynasty, Jiajing/Wanli Period (1522-1619).
heavily potted, the rounded sides rising to a short waisted neck and lipped rim, boldly painted to the exterior with interwined lotus scrolls, with flowering sprays repeated to the neck and a lappet band at the foot. Provenance: Ralph M. Chait Galleries Inc. Height: 38cm, 15in.
