Antique 19th century Dogon, Mali African carved wood figure of a man smoking a pipe. Ritually used aboriginal indigenous art. Standing figure with large bald head, flat beard extending around jaw line, protruding mouth, wedge shaped nose with arrow shaped nostrils, almond shaped open eyes, small eyebrows, long thin pipe held in left hand attached to cylindrical lips. Bent arms away from body, right arm missing at elbow, upper arm and wrist bracelets, protruding round navel and phallic bent legs on half circular wood base. Comes with an appraisal from Lowell Collins for $70,000 in 2002. Measures 52" high. Antique wear with missing arm. Gray patina. Will not ship. Will refer a local shipper
