Item: Old Vintage Cabinet Card Photograph on Board - Two Damaged Railroad Tracks

Size: 8.5 inches x 6.5 inches

Description: Two parallel tracks appear to be twisted in the same direction. Possibly this is the result of flood damage, as you can see waters in the background. Notice that an overturned piece of metal reads; "T. & N. O.". This indicates that these tracks were part of the Texas and New Orleans railroad.

Cabinet Card is a type of photograph printed very thin and mounted on a card. It was widely used for photographic portraiture after 1870, and reached peak popularity in 1880's. It was large enough to be seen from across a room, and was often put on display in a cabinet. This is how it earned the name, cabinet card.
