PAIR OF CHINESE ANCESTRAL PORTRAITS - Qing Dynasty 18th c. Portraits of Qianlong Governor and his Wife, two separate images staged in rich interiors, both are depicted holding opium pipes, his portrait including a female attendant and quivers full of arrows, he is wearing a fur trimmed coat and cap, with peacock feather garnish, she leans languidly on a table holding flower vase and bowl of fruit. Both have stamped vine border. In later matching frames, glazed, OS: 24 1/2" x 22 1/4", SS: 22 1/2" x 20 1/4". Light stains, multiple old repaired tears, a few filled areas.
