The heart of elegant classical form, with high relief foliage cluster. The heart was a male symbol for bravery, fortitude, loyalty, integrity, all attributes of the warrior. Warriors wore hearts as broaches, pendants and pectorals, often in significant multiples. It is said that Hrungnir, with whom Thor dueled (assisted by a sorceress), had a heart of stone.
