Pierced opened heart with crown motif above. The opened heart is only occasionally encountered and evidently of specific significance to Vikings. The heart had special meaning for Viking warriors as a male symbol for bravery, fortitude, loyalty, integrity. Warriors wore hearts as brooches, pendants and pectorals, often in significant multiples.
