Description
Comprises: 1.) Champagne-tone satin ribbon with gold-tone thread fringe at bottom edge. Bears gilt-stamped text "Sound Money / No Repudiation / First Presidential Voter's Club of Essex County, N.J." Features a 1-3/4" diameter celluloid halftone jugate of McKinley and Hobart with brass bezel holed at top and bottom for attachment. Retains gilt brass frame pinback hanger with celluloid insert imprinted "McKinley & Hobart." Ribbon imprinted behind hanger "The Whitehead & Hoag Co., Newark, N.J." and retains paper label on reverse. Overall 7-3/4" H x 2-7/8" W. 2.) Red, white, and blue striped satin ribbon with gold-tone thread fringe at bottom edge. Bears silver-stamped text "1896 / Protection / Reciprocity / Sound Money." Features a 1-3/4" celluloid halftone portrait imprinted at top "Maj. Wm. McKinley" with brass bezel holed at top and bottom for attachment. Retains gilt brass frame pinback hanger with celluloid insert imprinted "McKinley & Hobart." Complete with affixed U.S. flags above portrait. Ribbon imprinted behind hanger "The Whitehead & Hoag Co., Newark, N.J." overall 8-1/2" H x 2-7/8" W.
Condition
Jugate ribbon bears 1-1/4" horizontal tear at right side under the hanger. Both ribbons bear some fraying at bottom trims with fringe.
