Depiction of the biblical scene presenting Rebecca und Eliezer, who offers her the presents to make her become the wife of his master Issac, at the well. The artists, presumably the work was created by the sons of Paolo Veronese, painted the protagonists brighter than the others figures. The painting, which has been family-owned since the 18th century, was in the past presented in Palazzo Sarcinelli in Conegliano.
Condition:
The painting shows a horizontal crease in the center. Overall there are tiny loss of color and two larger ones are at the upper right edge and at the lower right corner. This corner is additionally loosely and bears a small loss of material. Two convex bumps with loss of color can be seen upper right and lower right and in the left part of the center is a concave bump with loss of color. The edges show rubbed spots due to the frame and overall are small retouched spots. The overall impression is good. The frame shows usual signs of age and wear and small loss of color. (msc)
