Painted Lift-Top Chest
attributed to Wilcken Bohn (1698-1770), Mühlenberg, Hamburg, Germany, hinged top with open interior set with lidded till and original iron lock, elaborately carved and inlaid façade set with three female allegorical figures and centering two oil on board port scenes, one ship flying a French flag, carved inscription "Wilcken Bohn Anno 1719 Denzifeber(?)" original wrought iron carrying handles and turned and ebonized feet, 30 x 54 x 26 in.. Condition: good condition overall, loss at one side batten, scattered cracks and warping, feet with some pest damage and associated losses, painted panels with some chips and abrasions.
