Description
Roman Empire, ca. 1st century BC/CE. Smallish pitcher in light clear glass with bulbous base to which a thin ribbon of applied glass was added as one of the finishing touches. Raised neck and trefoil spout, ribbon of glass added as a small handle. A vessel of this quality could only be afforded by a member of the very wealthiest class. Truly worthy of any museum-quality collection. Size: 3.5" H (8.9 cm)
