Description
Dark blue ground cloisonné vase with a dragon form handle from the late 19th Century. This unique vase is in the form of a pitcher with the handle being an ornate open mouthed five clawed dragon. The body of the vase is enameled with lotus, ruyi, cloud patterns. The body is also enameled with two 5-claw dragons chasing a pearl.
Dimensions are 9 1/4 inches wide (including handle) by 11 1/2 inches high. All measurements are approximate.
Condition: It is in overall good condition but there are several areas where the enamel has been damaged.
Provenance: From a Virginia estate.
