Description
Utagawa Yoshitora (Japanese, fl. 1836-1882). "Yoshimitsu Murakami Retrieving His Clan's Banner" from the series "Sixty-Odd Famous Generals of Japan", woodblock triptych print in colors, signed and sealed lower right. Colorful Ukiyo-e print depicting a battle between four warriors set before the open gate of an enclave, with a large tree at center and mountains in background. Verso with handwritten label in Japanese and framer's label "Kato / Tokyo". Framed approximately 19" x 33.75". Sight size approximately 13.75" x 28".
