Description
Utagawa Kyuniyoshi (Japanese, 1798-1861). "Anju-hime Carrying Buckets of Saltwater on the Shore", woodblock print in colors, published by Maru-ya Jimpachi circa 1840; "Beauty Holding a Battledore and Shuttlecock", woodblock print in colors, published by Masuda-ya Ginjiro circa late 1930s; and "Tokiwa Gozen and Her Children Fleeing in the Snow", woodblock print in colors, published by Senichi circa 1830s. A collection of three kakemono-e woodcuts depicting female figures, each signed and marked by publisher. Each sheet size presumably approximately 28" x 10". Largest frame approximately 31.5" x 12", smallest frame approximately 28" x 10". Reference: Basil William Robinson "Kuniyoshi: The Warrior-Prints", Cornell University Press, Ithaca, NY, 1982.
