Description
China, Han Dynasty, ca. 200 BCE to 200 CE. This is a decorated bronze hilt from a short sword with a flame-like shape to the guard, a grip with a bumpy surface that makes it pleasing to hold, and a diamond-shaped pommel. The design and shape of this hilt is particularly unique. Size: 6.6" L x 2.2" W (16.8 cm x 5.6 cm).
Provenance: Ex-Estate of John Piscopo. Mr. Piscopo was one of the largest collectors of ancient weapons in the US with a collection that spanned all cultures, all ages; ex-Anthony Allen Antiques.
