This walnut powder flask has a fire-gilt brass backing, nozzle, mounts, and medallion. Said medallion has a leaf and branch design to it in a concentric pattern, repeated four times.

Condition: Light scratching to the wooden face of the flask, some patination, rusting of iron pieces. Three inch gouche on face of flask.
History: German flasks from the 16th and 17th Centuries were well-known for their high quality craftsmanship, made of antler and a variety of other materials. They were often incorporated into the uniforms of guards and soldiers, carved with a variety of scenes and symbols.
