Latin America, Mexico, ca. mid 20th century CE. A carved wood figure with a corn husk head and a scarecrow-like visage depicting a male dancer wearing a "torito" on his head. The "torito" icon wood and paper effigy (generally a bull) that is filled with fireworks that explodes as the dancer cavorts through the crowd of watchers. Size: 7.5" W x 13.75" H (19 cm x 34.9 cm)
Provenance: Ex-private Morgan collection, Santa Monica, CA.
