An accounting in illustration and comment from an enlisted World War Sailor detailing his career in the United States Navy. Vintage WW I era Original Story Manuscript: " What the Navy Did to Me, By Swabo Sam" Created by an unknown artist whose name we believe to be " G.H. Norwood " these 80 pages tell the hand drawn story of our hero Swabo Sam from enlistment to " Saltiness" as the captions humor the reader with tales of life as a newly enlisted U.S. Navy man in the era of World War I. Condition: Pages each have a pin whole in each corner as if tacked up on a bulliton board. Pages are fragile from time and show wear on corners. Cover is very worn on top edge with small ( 1/4 in) tears , as well as discoloration from years of handling. 9 by 5 1/2 inch pages.
