Two 19th century engravings: 1) "G.Washington, From the original portrait by Stuart, in the Boston Athenaeum". Published by Johnson, Fry & Co. Uncolored steel engraving, beautifully framed and matted, measures roughly 6.75" x 9" within mat, 14" x 16.5" overall, 2) "G.Washington, Engraved by G.R. Hall". Uncolored steel engraving, including caption at bottom with facsimile signature: "GWashington / From the original portrait by Pine in the possession of J. CarsonBrevoort, Esqr. Painted by A. Chappel. Featuring an oval portrait of Washington in uniform, with a large flag as a backdrop, a heraldic eagle and militaria beneath the portrait. Very minor foxing and toning to sheet, beautifully framed and matted. Measures 6.75" x 9.625" within mat, 14.25" x 17.25" overall.
