Description
A Greek terracotta head of Hermes, c. 3rd - 2nd Century BC, with sensitive features, his gaze slightly to the right, wearing a diadem with wings at the side of the head, hair styled back in waves into a coiled plait at the nape of the neck. H: 2 5/8 in (6.7 cm). Mounted on square base. Cf. see Corinth XII. Ex collection of Alvin M. Cohen, MD.
