American Rococo Mahogany Full Tester Bed, mid 19th century, of the type crafted for the antebellum New Orleans market, the projecting cyma-molded cornice on tapered octagonal column posts supporting a paneled headboard with a scroll and shell carved top rail, the posts joined by serpentine rails with central applied carving, to a like footboard, the tester with a silk upholstered panel, H.- 113 in., Int. W.- 55 in., Int. D.- 72 in.

Condition consistent with age and use. Light scratches, scuffs, and dents are observed throughout. Moderate scratches and wear are noted on the interior of the rails and footboard. The canopy insert does not fit into the frame. An approximate 9 inch crack is observed in the left side of the canopy beam. An approximate ½ inch circular dent is noted to the middle of one post. A slight separation is seen in the applied molding at the top of the back right post. Two chips are noted in the front of the canopy and two more are observed on the left side. A medallion is lacking from the front left post. A scratch is observed along the right footrail. An approximate ½ inch chip is seen on the top of the left rail. A cluster of scratches is noted near the bottom of the right post. Two sections of applied molding are lacking from the bottoms of the front posts. An approximate 1 foot section of wear is observed on the right side of the headboard. An elegant example. ALL PROPERTY IS SOLD "AS IS."
