American Rococo Revival Mahogany Tester Bed
mid-19th century, attributed to the warerooms of Prudent Mallard, New Orleans, with a complex serpentine and arched canopy, the paneled headboard with a broken-arch crest centered by a flower basket cartouche, the rails and footboard with applied carvings.

Condition
In good restored condition. There are three large veneer chips to one rail at the footboard end. The headboard has a long veneer loss along its lower edge. All of the rails are lacking their bolts and are now being held by iron straps on the inside. The canopy is a professional replacement. Retains good color and finish.
