PENNSYLVANIA SIGNED JACQUARD COVERLET, in dark blue, red, and green with foliate, bird, and star motifs and "SARAH / KOFFEL / JOHN KA / UFMAN / 1840" in one corner and fringe. Together with one overshot geometric patterned coverlet woven as the "double bow knot" in red, brown, and natural with significant wear and damage and one brown plaid woven wool coverlet with fringe on two sides. Three pieces total. John Kaufman, weaver, Bucks County, Pennsylvania. 1840. Jacquard 74" x 93" without fringe, geometric coverlet 82 1/2" x 66", plaid coverlet 80" x 80" without fringe.
