Description
A Pennsylvania Wool Jacquard Coverlet, Circa 1860, William Ney (1811-1892), Myerstown, Lebanon County. The central floral medallion over green, red and yellow alternating bands, surrounded by a thick floral border to four sides and fringe to three sides, constructed in a single panel. Inscribed along the lower edge "MADE. BY. WM. NEY. MYERSTOWN. LEBANON. CO. PA". Together with a William Lowmiller (ca. 1810-1879) Pennsylvania blue and white wool jacquard two-panel coverlet, Muncy Borough, Lycoming County, Dated 1845.
Dimensions: Dimensions 82 x 82in and 75 x 73in.
Provenance: Property from a Maryland Collection.
Condition
The Lebanon County coverlet is in very good condition, with minimal signs of wear. There is an area of small stains to the lower left quadrant. The blue and white coverlet with significant wear, damage, holes and losses throughout.
