Description
Pre-Columbian, Panama, ca. 500 to 1000 CE. Three pottery objects including two small ollas and a pedestal plate, each vividly painted in shades of red, tan and black. One olla decorated with black geometric designs and small monkey face on one side, tail and legs on the other. Other olla decorated with turtle head and claws on front, flippers on reverse. Finally, pedestal plate is decorated with geometric and saurian designs. Nice lot! Size: 4.375" W x 2.875" H (11.1 cm x 7.3 cm) for pedestal.
Provenance: Ex - old Louisiana collection recovered from the New River Region prior to 1950
