The Troopers Manual or Tactics for Light Dragoons and Mounted Riflemen by Col. J. Lucius Davis, published by A. Morris, Richmond, Va. 1861. Chas. Wynne, printer. First edition of this scarce Civil War related book, with pencil inscription in cover "Edward D. Hicks, Adjut. Major, First Battalion, Tennessee Cavalry." (Edward Dickson Hicks II, 1831-1894). Half leather with gilt title on dark leather spine and marbled boards. 6" x 4". Provenance: the estate of Sarah Hunter Hicks Green, formerly of Historic Devon Farm, Nashville, Tennessee.
