This is a striking original oil on board painting of a female nude in a field by the listed artist, Minna Grumbt Webb (1885-1969). Webb was born in Germany, but came to the United States to live in Massachusetts as a child. She studied at the Swain Free School of Design, and in addition to exhibiting her works at galleries in MA, she worked as an artist and decorator for the Pairpoint Glass Company of New Bedford, MA. As you can see, this particular piece is quite lovely. It depicts a female nude with long, flowing red hair laying upon a field of greens and against a blue, cloudy sky. As you can also see, the painting is signed Minna G. Webb in the lower right hand corner. The painting itself is in good condition for its age, though the gilded frame (which I believe is the original frame), does have a number of knicks and scuffs as shown. The board measures approximately 10 1/8" by 7 5/8", while the frame measures approximately 13 1/2" by 10 1/2."
