Description
Pre-Columbian, Northern Peru, Sican / Lambayeque culture, Ca. 800 to 1000 CE. A polychrome stirrup, twin-lobed vessel with an intricately painted surface in red, chocolate brown, and cream hues, depicting a hiighly decorated, standing lord on the front section, and a rectangular "cushion" adornes with a variety of textile-inspired motifs, with a beautifully painted bridge connecting the two and a conical spout. The whistle emerges from the head of the male and spout acts as the mouthpiece. Whistle works wonderfully well! Size: 8.5" L x 4.75" W x 7.25" H (21.6 cm x 12.1 cm x 18.4 cm)
