AMERICAN SCHOOL (19TH CENTURY) FOLK ART HUDSON RIVER VIEW PAINTING, oil on canvas, depicting various vessels, including a paddlewheeler flying an American flag, plying the river, viewed from a rocky promontory, no signature located. Housed in a molded giltwood frame. Third quarter 19th century. 15 1/4" x 19 1/4" sight, 20 1/8" x 24 1/8" OA.
Painting dirty with areas of discoloration and scattered surface abrasions. Possible area of inpainting at upper edge. Frame with wear, losses, and significant discoloration to surface.
