Willich (d. 1804) and James Mease (1771-1846), "The Domestic Encyclopedia; or, A Dictionary of Fact and Useful Knowledge", 1804, first American edition, printed by Robert Carr, for William Young Birch and Abraham Small, Philadelphia; bound in leather, with red labels, gold lettering and decoration, with period sellers label to pastedown "SLOD (sic) BY / COTTOM AND STEWART / FREDERICKSBURG", and old owner's name to cover pages in ink.
Very good condition overall, some wear to covers, bumped corners, moderate toning, minimal foxing, some creases or bent corners, mostly as made, penciled accession numbers to title pages.
