LE-3 LYRE PRESSED OPEN SALT, pale opalescent (unlisted in Neal), on four scroll feet. Extremely rare. Boston & Sandwich Glass Co. 1835-1845. 1 7/8" H, 2" x 3 1/8".
Literature: Neal, p. 131. The Acorn, Volume 15, 2008/2009, p. 34, "Pressed Glass Salt Dishes of the Lacy Period 1825-1850: An Addendum."
Provenance: From an old Boston collection.
Excellent condition, upper scrolls with a flake and normal mold roughness, moderate chip to one end of base, feet with a shallow chip to top of one and normal mold roughness.
