Movement: Mesnil – Clock manufactory, from 1806 established at Charnier des Innocents as well as from 1812-15 at Rue Nevue Saint-Marc
Mesnil supplied clocks to Andre-Antoine Ravrio and to Thomire.Â
Dial inscribed ‘Ravrio Bronzier à Paris’ as well as ‘Mesnil hrger’

Circular brass movement, spring dirven, lever escapement

White enamel dial with Roman hour-markers, outer minute ring with Arabic indices, golden Breguet-hands
Upon a rectangular pedestal with four feet four columns with bronze bases and capitals are carrying an architrave with broken pediment
Embellished throughout with ormolu bronze appliqués in the manner of Empire

Condition:
The portico mantel clock is in very good condition with barely any signs of age and wear. The marble surface partially shows smaller bumps. A winding key is not included. During in house testing, the timepiece was fully functional; no guarantee on long term precision and regularity. The size measures 48.5 x 27.7 x 15 cm. (nlu)
André-Antoine Ravrio (1759-1814) was a French sculptor in bronze. He was made a master founder in 1777 and set up in business on his own in 1790. He became famous for the small bronzes he sold to a prestigious clientele, notably including Napoleon I.
