This is an ORIGINAL VINTAGE, SINGLE STRAND NECKLACE of SALTWATER CULTURED PEARLS with a DIAMOND & SAPPHIRE CLASP. This necklace was made during the 1940s and the clasp is made from PLATINUM. The clasp is set with 28 BRILLIANT CUT & OLD MINE CUT DIAMONDS of H-I color, SI to I clarity that weigh approx. .28 ctw. One diamond is chipped but you need magnification to see it. The clasp is also set with 6 synthetic BLUE SAPPHIRES that are baguettes, weighing approx. .36 ctw. One of the sapphires has kind of a tough setting, but this would not be noticed when on the neck unless very closely inspected. I am only stating this for accuracy. The clasp measures 7/8"? long x just over 3/8"? at the widest point. CLASSIC ART DECO DESIGN! There is 1 STRAND of SALTWATER CULTURED WHITE PEARLS made up of 54 PEARLS. The pearls measure 8.47 - 8.95 and since they pretty uniform in size, you can wear the clasp towards the front if you want to display it. These pearls have a LIGHT CREAMY HUE with few very minor blemishes that you must intently look for. They have good luster and are PERFECTLY MATCHED! The necklace is MATINEE LENGTH measuring 22.25"? long and the string is in great condition, although it has 2 dark spots. The total weight is 54.9 grams. Many more vintage and antique pearl necklaces available. *Note - Antique pearls were cultured for a longer time than the modern pearls of today. Therefore, they have thicker nacre and are of higher quality. Pearls are the most difficult thing to photograph to show their true quality and color, but all of my past customers have been more than pleased with the pearls they received.
