ANTIQUE COPPER FISH / FRYING PAN & LION PAW BRAISING PAN : 19th Century Copper and tin Lined Fish or Frying Pan, French; The long oval form with outward leaning sides and a shaped pour spout at one end. One side fitted with a riveted flat iron handle. 2.5”h x 21.5”l x 8.875”w and handle 9.5”l. 2. Large rectangular copper and brass braising pan with lid. Brass ball finial, brass handle and raised upon four brass paw feet, 15”h x 16.25”l x 7.5”w. These two pieces were appraised in 2008, as part of a larger collection of copperware for $3600USD for insurance purposes. The appraisal was part of a much larger USPAP, ISA estate appraisal of fine art and antiques (selections offered throughout this auction) and a copy of the cover page and these listings will be included with the lot. Frederic C. 'Fritz' Wallace (1904 – 2014, Germany, America) was born in Munich, Germany and immigrated to the United States in 1938 and served with the Army for three years in the ‘European Theater of Operations’ (ETO). He traveled extensively throughout the globe, collecting with an extremely educated focus and uncommon eye. Truly devoted to research for his collection, Mr. Wallace ensured that he purchased the rarest of interested items in only the best of condition. A fortunate Realtor and Developer, he lived in Sarasota, where he was a patron of the arts and served for many years on the Board of Directors at the historic Asolo Repertory Theatre.
