Description
SAINT-SAENS CAMILLE: (1835-1921) French Composer. A good A.M.Q.S., C. Saint-Saens, on an 8vo page removed from an autograph album, n.p., 1913. On a holograph stave the composer has neatly penned the opening four bars from Act One of his grand opera Ascanio (1890), representing King Francois I's address before Benvenuto Cellini's statue of Jupiter, adding the words ('Voici le pur chef-d'oeuvre, ami! Ce Jupiter') in his hand beneath. Identified by the composer at the head of the page. VG
