Ravel, Maurice (French composer, 1875-1937). Autograph Quotation Signed. 1 p, 4to, Los Angeles, February 8, 1928, being two bars of music in G-flat major inscribed for Stephanie Kastner. Mild toning, small hole near upper margin just touching inscription, verso with some light damage from adhesive. Good. ***************************** Maurice Ravel performed in the ballroom of the Biltmore Hotel on this date; earlier in the day he had visited MGM Studios. (See Chalupt & Gerar, Ravel au miroir de ses lettres, 1956, p 226 ff.) Ravel was considered France's greatest composer in the 1920s and 1930s. An unusual item, from the autograph collection of Harry Gould Jr.
