Description
A COLLECTION OF FOUR ROYAL COPENHAGEN POLYCHROME PAINTED PORCELAIN FIGURES OF DUTCH FARMERS WITH LIVESTOCK, GREEN AND BLUE MAKER'S MARKS, 20TH CENTURY, each painted in white or pastel color palette of pale dusty blues, grays, and browns, and with green underglaze crown Royal Copenhagen hallmark underfoot, the collection comprising "Boy with Little Pig," no. 4530, circa 1969-1974, originally designed by Henrik Hansen (Danish 894-1965), a barefoot boy standing in front of cylindrical wood stump barrier and holding a pink pig with both of his hands on a round green naturalistic base reversing to an underside embossed "JUS" alongside "HH" under maker's mark over blue triple wave and painter's uppercase "F/G" initials above green "4530," height: 6 3/4"; "Boy with Two Sheep," no. 627, circa 1975-1979, originally designed by Christian Thomsen (Danish 1860-1921), a young man wearing a blue cap hunched over a sheep and clutching the wool on its neck with his right hand while guiding another sheep by rope with his left and "CTh" embossed monogram on the green ovular naturalistic base reversing to an underside stamped "627" beside "K.P." opposite maker's mark over blue triple wave and painter's uppercase "NG" initials over green "627," height: 8"; "Girl with Calf," no. 779, circa 1947, originally designed by Christian Thomsen, a woman in blue with a cream and brown polka dot scarf tied over her hair bending over to tilt up a bucket with her left hand and petting the neck of a gray and cream calf with her right hand who eats from the bucket with "Chr. Th." embossed monogram on the shaped green naturalistic base reversing to an underside stamped "779" above maker's mark over blue triple wave alongside painter's initials and green "779," height: 6 1/2"; "Pig Boy," no. 848, circa 1980-1984, also originally sculpted by Christian Thomsen, a blue capped boy guiding a large cream pig with a stick in his right hand and by leaning the right side of his body on the pig in mid stride with "Chr. Thomsen" embossed on the green rounded naturalistic base reversing to an underside stamped "848" opposite the green maker's mark over blue triple wave and artist's uppercase "BH" initials above green "848," height: 7". Condition
All four fine porcelain Royal Copenhagen pieces in excellent condition, with no chips, cracks, or repairs. All clearly and correctly marked.
