Description
Greece, Boeotian, ca. 6th Century BCE. Molded bust of a lovely Goddess, she wears a stephane headdress and holds hands close to body. Protome like this were often hung inside or outside the house as a means of asking for the graces of the gods. A large attractive example! Size: 6.75" W x 6.375" H (17.1 cm x 16.2 cm).
Provenance: Ex-private NYC, NY collection, acquired in Germany in the 1990s
