Description
Pre-Columbian, West Mexico, Jalisco culture, ca. 200 BCE to 500 CE. Figure strapped to four-legged platform with two hoops (one missing) arching over the body, painted in red and cream slip. The Jalisco culture along with the Colima and Nayarit followed a shaft tomb tradition and created ceramic grave goods for the deceased like this figure strapped to a funerary palette. Size: 7.5" L x 4" W x 4.75" H (19 cm x 10.2 cm x 12.1 cm)
