Description
China, Han Dynasty, ca. 206 BCE to 220 CE. This is a trio of cast bronze chariot items; two are axle caps and the third is part of a wheel hub. By the Han Dynasty, chariots were largely ceremonial, having been superceded by cavalry as weapons of war. However, chariots continued to be part of the burial assemblage for elites. Size of largest: 3.1" W x 1.7" H (7.9 cm x 4.3 cm)
