Description
Pre-Columbian, West Mexico, Guanajuato Valley, Chupicuaro, ca. 300 BCE. An attractive pair of tripod bowls, both with a gorgeous bichrome finish. Smaller example seems to have remains of rattle and produces some sound. Nice manganese deposits on larger example. Size: larger measures 6-7/8" x 9"
Provenance: Ex-private Olan collection, California, by family descent, acquired 1960 to 1970.
