Offered male figure is depicted in an upright standing position, in the left hand he carries a phylactery, in his right hand a globe, symbolizing the Trinity. The wooden figure of a saint is typical for the 14th century. The thin, elongated hands, the finely crafted face framed by curls, with almond-shaped eyes, straight nose and short beard as well as the slightly tilted head and the modest, smoothly falling robe are all characteristic of 14th century sculpture.



Condition:

The figure is in a good condition with natural signs of age and wear. The wood is partially bumped, with minor blemishes and abrasion. In places wormy (inactive) and with tension cracks. The height of the figure measures 45.5 cm, the total dimensions of the stand are 59 x 26.5 x 16.8 cm. (nlu)
